Shirin Bismillah
Shirin Bismillah is a young academic based in the national capital region of Delhi, India. She took degrees in English Literature from Jamia Millia and Delhi University, India, and has recently returned from University of Hawai’i at Manoa where she taught Hindi as a Fulbright Language Teaching Assistant. She also holds a diploma in translation and has worked for think tanks including Central Square Foundation and Khan Academy to improve school education in India.
On the creative side, her poems and translations have appeared in eFiction India, Indian Literature, Moon Pigeon Press, Kitaab, Kashmir Lit, Penguin Classics, Oberon (London) and Warscapes. Her recent translation of Amir Nizar Zuabi’s The Beloved, into Hindostani, is being staged by Aasakta Kala Manch across various cities in India.
